The CEF curriculumA two-level pathway built for Liberian classrooms. Level 1 Foundations gives every learner practical knowledge for life. Level 2 Skills Academy turns it into career-linked skills.
Each course has 12 lessons of 60 minutes in 4 modules, followed by a 4-week community project. Every lesson follows the same five steps (Hook, Learn, Do, Reflect, Act) and runs without electricity, using chalk and local materials.
Science, maths and problem-solving through hands-on experiments with local materials.
How climate change affects Liberian communities, and practical action learners can lead.
Soil, seeds, compost and school gardens: growing food and income sustainably.
Hygiene, nutrition, safety and healthy habits for learners and their families.
Understanding emotions, managing stress, supporting friends and knowing where to get help.
Lessons include notes to adapt for younger and older learners, quizzes and a community project, so schools can use them with different ages and community groups.
After Level 1, learners choose a track: 12 workshops of 90 minutes (Brief, Learn, Build, Test, Log), four skill badges, a 4-week capstone project, a CEF certificate and the CEF Innovation Showcase.
Design, build and test simple machines, circuits and solar-powered solutions.
Spot a community need, plan a small business, keep records and pitch the idea.
Climate-smart farming, water, waste and renewable-energy projects for the community.
Digital literacy, coding basics, media creation and safe, responsible use of technology and AI.
Practical trade skills and work readiness: communication, teamwork, money and next steps into TVET or work.
Tracks connect learners to the next step: university, technical and vocational training, a job or their own small business.
Public, private, community and faith-based schools, TVET centres and youth organizations anywhere in Liberia can sign up.
CEF trains and coaches your staff to teach the courses, with course books, the Facilitator Manual and support visits.
